Please give Seth and I a break this week. We are walking zombies during daytime hours while we participate in sleep training with Emma at night. Oh the joy! Seth (as always) is handling the lack of sleep a lot better than me. And he is doing the heavy lifting at night too. Such a stud!
We are trying the Ferber Method. When Emma wakes in the night we let her fuss/cry for five minutes before Seth goes into her room and calms her down. Once calm, he leaves her room and then she starts to fuss/cry again. Then we wait ten minutes and start all over again. The purpose of this exercise is to give Emma the opportunity to pacify herself and teach her to fall back asleep on her own.
It is sooooo hard to listen to her cry!!!
Seth does all the work because if I was to go in there, she would become frenzied thinking it is feeding time. So luckily I have Seth who is helping out a great deal. Since starting this method, she no longer has an early morning (1:30 to 3 am) feeding.
According to what we have read, it usually takes infants three nights before they are sleeping through the night. We are really looking forward to being able to sleep through the night!!! In the meantime, we are onto our fifth sleep training session and still patiently waiting... She still really likes to wake between 2 am to 4 am. :-\

Is Emma sleeping in her crib in her room? You guys are awesome, way to try it and stick to it. Love you guys!
Yes, she is in her own room. She has been in there for a few months now. Big girl in her big girl room. :)
