California - Girls Weekend

Emma and I headed to California for a quick weekend getaway.  We took advantage of some relatively cheap flights and Aunt Lindsay's spring break.  March was a busy month, so it was really nice to hop on a "quick" flight, put our feet up, enjoy some good company, and get some vitamin D.  A perfect girls weekend getaway.  Emma had a lot of fun in California; here were some of her favorite activities:
  • Being greeted by Aunt Lindsay at the airport (even though it was 2 am in Emma time, she still light up when she spotted her aunt);
  • Playing "Rollover" with Aunt Lindsay (see video);
  • Playing with and loving Uncle Co-Co;
  • Rough-housing with Aunt Lindsay - she loves being thrown in the air and pig piling;
  • Putting wine corks into a water bottle, taking them out, then starting all over again;
  • Wearing her 'Team Co-Co' with her other "cousins" who have the same shirt;
  • Having a playdate with her "cousins" - she is still talking about them;
  • Making art with crayons and stickers - Aunt Lindsay taught her to trace her hand with a cranyon;
  • Reading books and singing songs with Bonnie;
  • Helping Mark water his plants;
  • Reading the newspaper with Mark;
  • Going golfing with Mark on the putting green (her definition of golfing was throwing the balls and having Mark fetch them);
  • Eating Mark and Bonnie's delicious cooking;
  • Rolling and poking soft pretzel dough as Mark and Bonnie made them;
  • FaceTiming with Papa;
  • Playing with Aunt Lindsay's Puppies (her favorite is Mable);
  • Talking about Aunt Lindsay's Puppies all-the-time (she still is);
  • Dining with all of our extended family at a big dinner at one of my favorite restaurants (what a treat, thanks for coming out!);
  • Going for walks, stroller rides, and enjoying some vitamin D;
  • Doubling her vocabulary;
  • Enjoying the quality time with her Mama (or maybe it was the other way around);
  • Relaxing; and
  • Making plans for May when our family (including Papa) will be back for an extended vacation.
Here are a few photographs of Emma's adventures in California.

"Hi Papa, I love FaceTiming you!  Did you
see how I back-handed Mama in the head?"

"Mable, you can lick my finger because I like you.
Sam, please stop licking the inside of my mouth."

Tracing her hand while traveling on an airplane.

"I love being goofy with Aunt Lindsay!"

"Making pretzels is hard; can I eat the dough?"

"This is the best game in the world!!!"

"Hello my name is burrito."

"Quality time with my GiGi!"

"2 am, no big deal.  I am still super excited to see Auntie!"

Mama's favorite photo.
