13-Months-Old

FYI, I might continue expressing Emma's age in months for as long as I can.  For some reason, this makes me feel like she will be a little one forever.  Anyways, back to the purpose of this post - Emma turned 13-months-old last month!  And with this new birthday comes some new activities...
  • Speed crawling with two arms and a knee, then use the other leg to power self ahead;
  • Saying "hi" and "bye";
  • Blowing kisses, sometimes she uses her tongue;
  • Making the "fish" face to pucker for a kiss;
  • Crawling into other rooms that Mom and Pop are not in to explore on her own;
  • Testing her Mom and Pop on their lack of child-proofing around the house (she recently became obsessed with the cupboard that houses all of our cleaning supplies);
  • Learning how to climb up the stairs;
  • Crawling and climbing over everything (she prefers to climb over versus around something if it gets in her path);
  • Taking everything out of the pantry bottom shelves;
  • Throwing fits (back arching, kicking, and sometimes arm flailing) if she doesn't get her way;
  • Creeping (walking while hanging on with two hands to something) along furniture and her bath tub;
  • Diving and sliding all around in her bath tub;
  • Having some playdates with some youngins (welcome to the world Marshall M. and Hadley G.!) which make her feel older and wiser;
  • "Reading" books, or rather flipping pages, on her own;
  • Playing in her diaper during the recent heat waves; and
  • Being her fabulous, fun, and adorable self.
Here are some fun photos of Emma as a 13-month-old.

"Kissy, kissy, kissy!"

"Mmmm, I like Oreo ice cream just like my Momma."

"Helping" Mom cook while getting into trouble in the kitchen.

Ugh, too warm for clothes!

Hamming it up with Grandpa Dage!

"Don't these shades make me look fabulous!?!"

"Mum, I'm wicked smart!"
