Nemo Found Us

The blizzard of 2013 arrived last Friday with a fury; but we had fun enjoying her wrath!.  The storm was named Nemo, hence all the references.  We had fun hunkering down and spending quality time with each other.  Some of Emma's favorite activities during Nemo included the following:
  • Watching Finding Nemo - it seemed so appropriate;
  • Fast forwarding through most of the movie (Finding Nemo is a scary kids movie - sharks, death, darkness, scary sounds, sadness, etc.);
  • Staying home because of a state-wide travel ban during a 24-hour period;
  • Watching the news coverage of the "Blizzard of 2013";
  • Checking out the snow drifts (much taller than Emma);
  • Snowshoeing and sledding on our property (we got about two feet of snow, maybe more);
  • Getting our neighbors mail, paying them a visit, and putting on the charm;
  • Standing suspended in snow (she couldn't touch the ground or move in the snow);
  • Throwing snow at Papa;
  • Shoveling the driveway;
  • Snowshoeing (Emma was in the backpack carrier on Papa's back) at Windblown;
  • Crying about halfway through the trails at Windblown and heading back to the lodge early; and
  • Enjoying the lodge amenities - warm wood stove, snacks, and people watching.
Here are a few photographs of Emma playing in the snow.

"This snow is as tall as me!!!"

"Yum, Nemo tastes good.  Mom, I'd rather this white stuff
instead of vegetables for dinner."

"WHO is going to clean up this mess?!?!"

"Faster, Papa, faster!!!"

"Just chilling, suspended in the snow."

Watching the news with her Bunny in her favorite seat.

Snowshoeing with Papa at Windblown.

"I'm a snow bunny, I'd much prefer the snacks in the lodge!"
