One of our favorite activities while I was on maternity leave was going to the
Townsend Library. It is a new library, built a couple of years ago. It hosts a wonderful kid's space where children can run around, read books, play with toys, work on computers, etc. We love this space. It is separate from the rest of the library and seems soundproof. They also host different activities there. Some events we've been to include: movies, book readings, puppet shows,
Clifford sightings, and gingerbread house making.
A regular event we (Emma, Isla, and I) would attend was Storytime with Miss Molly. Miss Molly is a celebrity in our house. She is sweet, engaging, and likes reading books - aka Emma's idol. Each Tuesday we would go to the library for storytime. Emma always enjoyed the event and Isla loved hanging out in the Ergo baby carrier. We would pick out books and a movie to take home with us. I think Emma's favorite part about borrowing from the library was returning items. It was her job to put the books/movies into the return slot. And sometimes she would insist on returning them seconds after we borrowed them.
Here are some photos collected of our time at the library.

She was an active participant (& volunteered) in the puppet
show by putting this potato into the puppet's soup. |
