Camping, Round 1

We went camping with Emma's Grandpa and Grandma Soos, Great Uncle George and Great Aunt Anna, and Great Uncle Ralph and Great Aunt Margaret.  Emma didn't sleep much (nor did her parents), but enjoyed the following fun activities:
  • Enjoying Jamaica Old Home Days;
  • Waving to everyone who would give Emma attention;
  • Not taking naps;
  • Staying up late;
  • Modeling her Carhartt overalls (and being called a boy while wearing them);
  • Eating graham crackers while everyone made smores;
  • Sleeping (and body slamming) between her parents throughout the night;
  • Periodically sleeping on top of (not next to) her parents;
  • Eating all kinds of wonderful food made with love by her Grandpa and Grandma;
  • Gobbling up Grandma's blueberry pancakes with maple syrup;
  • Falling asleep on her Grandpa during a late night walkabout;
  • Cuddling with Aunt Anna;
  • Feeding Great Uncle George some chedder bunnies, then feeding him more, and then some more;
  • Having staring contests with Uncle Ralph;
  • Getting new nick names - "cranks" and "grumpoid" while showing some "Emmatude";
  • Going for hikes with Papa and Mama as they tried unsucessfully to get Emma to nap;
  • Playing at the campsite and getting all kinds of dirty;
  • Being carried around during the all the rain in order to avoid another level of dirty;
  • Taking a bath in her swimming pool;
  • Checking out the Newfane Country Store and buying some Christmas presents; and
  • Enjoying gelato and ice cream - I think she sampled everyone's dish.
Despite all the fun, we headed home a day early to get some sleep.  Emma wasn't feeling well (still working through RSV, something she picked up at daycare).  Once home, we all enjoyed a good night's rest in our own beds!

Here are some fun photos of our camping (round 1, more on round 2 later) adventure.

Hanging out on Grandma!

The only time she "slept" in her pod.

One of Emma's favorite activies included climbing in and out
of her camp chair.

Sleepy Emma cuddling with Aunt Anna.

"Papa, I will not go to sleep."

"Grandpa, that is MY pacifier!"

Warm campfire.

The campsite at breakfast.

"Mmmmm, Grandma's blueberry pancakes are the best!"

The one time she napped - it was worth the wait.
