More Swim

Last night was our last swim class.  :(  Suddenly, about 20 minutes into the class the pool closed because of biological contamination (aka Who pooped in the pool?  Don't be looking at my freshly potty-trained, no longer wearing a swim diaper daughter!!!).  Then Emma was handed a "Certificate of Accomplishment" and we were sent on our way.  Wow, I guess the fun is over.

This 7-week program has taught her a few swimming skills.  She is definitely a kicker and loves blowing bubbles in the water, but she is by no means independent in the pool.  Ultimately, it has just been a bunch of fun!  The best part every week has been watching her huge grin.

Here are some photos of the last class (Papa got in the pool while Mama took photos and stayed dry).

"Do these jazz hands show how excited I am to go swimming!?!"

Papa and Emma having a little fun before the class begins.
You could hear her giggles even with the hum of the screaming
kids and background noise.

Chasing after her duck.  She loves chasing after
the toys the teacher gives her.

Here is a video of Emma chasing (look at those strong legs) after the rubber duck.

I would definitely recommend swim lessons for a 2-year-old.  For a younger child, it seems a little silly and a waste of money; and most of the older kids in the class dropped out because they were too afraid of the water.  So 2 years seems like a good age to get started since they can listen to instruction and the fear of water hasn't likely set in.
