"Mom, this is the worst idea ever. Please hold me."
So change of plans, the farm's pre-cut trees looked just as good and we were quickly on our way. Back at home, Emma helped put the lights on the tree.
"Woah, this is the coolest toy ever!"
Then the next night, the decorating really began! Emma hung her first ornament, a Dunkin Donuts coffee ornament.

It's barely hanging on, but she did all the work herself.
After hanging her first, she found hanging ornaments in the traditional sense to be too easy. She "hung" a few more by simply throwing them into the tree. Some stayed inside the tree and others fell to the floor. Despite her parent's encouragement, the first ornament was the only one that was properly hung onto the tree.

Good thing her Papa was there to catch this one.
She got a little tired and told us, in her own way, that it was bed time.

"Mom, I'm sleeping on the tree skirt tonight."
But not before getting into a little more mischief...

Right after this photo was taken, she knocked the two figurines together and broke them (luckily this was the only causality!)
This Christmas tree experience was a lot more interactive in comparison to last year's. Things have changed so much over the last year and will continue to in years to come. Maybe next year we will be able to cut our own tree!
